Today, Ryde announces its partnership with Collective Benefits, a platform that allows companies to provide sick and injury pay; mental health support; and savings for independent workers. This partnership unlocks a variety of privileges and benefits for riders.
In a bid to protect the wellbeing of independent workers, Ryde has just become one of the early-wave adopters of a benefits program designed for the gig economy.
“Having the opportunity to implement wellness benefits is thrilling and it represents a milestone for Ryde in our mission to protect, support, and reward our independent workers,” explains Duncan Mitchell, one of the founding partners. “By partnering with Collective Benefits, we are now able to provide our riders with key protections, including insurance that covers sickness, injury, family leave, and compassionate leave”.
With the help of Collective Benefits, riders will now have access to physio, counselling, Digital GP, and private healthcare to help them feel their best, both mentally and physically. In addition, it sponsors a rewards marketplace that enables riders to save money on what matters most to them, with the ability to earn free fuel cards and access discounted vehicle maintenance, tax support, food on-the-go, and access to emerging technology.
“We’re delighted to be working with Ryde on improving their worker health and wellbeing” said Anthony Beilin, CEO and co-founder at Collective Benefits. “A significant and increasing portion of the workforce is employed through independent work, yet 96% are currently without any form of income protection and over 50% have less than £200 in savings. Offering financial protection to its workers, alongside an extensive benefits package, is therefore an exciting step forward both for the company’s Riders and for the industry as a whole, and validates Ryde’s position as a market leader when it comes to worker protections and sustainability.”
Ryde innovated the market as the world's first end-to-end delivery management platform. It’s dedication to creating a flexible, fair and rewarding environment for its riders is symptomatic of its continuing investment in advancing both last mile delivery and the rights of independent workers.
